Health Technician (Otolaryngology)

Assists Otolaryngology Medical Officers in a variety of specialized treatments, surgical procedures and tests. Functions as primary surgical assistant in clinical operating room procedures Functions as a surgical scrub. Assists in inoperative, pre-operative and post-operative care. Cleans, prepares and sterilizes a variety of instruments and dressing trays. Assists in patient management by providing pre and post-operative information to patients. Maintains medical records and statistical reports. Takes culture specimens from the throat, nose and ears. Stocks supplies and reports any noted deficiencies in supplies or equipment.
