About the role
Collect patient data through interviews, observation, physical examination and review of medical records. Maintain reporting databases for patient tracking, national certifications, research, and treatment protocols. Identify situations in which the physician should be notified immediately. Provide nursing care for the pediatric patient during the sedated and post-sedation period. Educate patients and/or family members regarding procedures to be performed and treatment provided. Perform comprehensive Pediatric Hematology and Oncology nursing assessments and interpret laboratory reports to assess the impact of the procedure upon the pediatric patient.
