About the role
You will serve as an Equipment Specialist and be responsible for functioning as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for formal procurement actions and as a Technical Representative for Simplified Acquisition Procurement (SAP) contracts. Additionally, collecting, analyzing, inspecting and developing specialized technical information for marine equipment that the SBPL is responsible for. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Recommending a variety of sources of supply including procurement, outside repair, in-house manufacture, etc. Identifying problems and/or trends that exist regarding the acquisition of various parts and equipment and recommends improvements. Providing the technical equipment data required to assure that requisitions are filled with the exact item needed.
