About the role
Conduct comprehensive hydrologic engineering studies to manage water supply and facilitate flood control and drainage operations. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Floodplain management issues and represent the District and Enterprise at public meetings and with project partners. Manage the overall conduct and direction of the Flood Plain Management Services (FPMS) Program and large-scale, complex engineering programs. Plan and implement 1D and 2D river hydraulic studies using numerical models to determine water surface profiles and flow impacts. Act as the District Point of Contact (POC) for technical support related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Provide guidance and expertise to Federal, State, and local agencies on technical matters such as flood height interpretation.
