Supervisory Attorney-Advisor (CR) (Assistant Regional Attorney)- TEMP PROMOTION/DETAIL

Responsible for assisting with managing, directing, and supervising the District's Legal Unit. Ensures Legal Unit staff provide appropriate advice to the District’s enforcement staff during the investigation and conciliation of charges and serves as a hands-on resource in the development of systemic discrimination cases. Oversees the development of difficult legal theories and the preparation of complex legal documents and directs discovery, court hearings, and trials. Recommends proposed changes in procedures based on operational experience to achieve efficient, effective, and economical accomplishment of the agency's goals and objectives. Oversees the development of difficult legal theories and the preparation of complex legal documents in connection with formal actions in cases. Develops programs for staff training in current or new processes and procedures, including the training of attorneys on the law and the litigation process.
