About the role
You will evaluate shipyard compliance in safety program functional areas, making recommendations for improvement. You will conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of buildings, dry docks, on ships, piers and other facilities to identify, evaluate, provide recommendations, advice and guidance to employees, supervisors and managers. You will develop and conduct training for employees, supervisors and managers on general safety and occupational health subjects. You will conduct mishap investigations and prepare guidance in the report of findings with recommendations to correct unsafe, unhealthful acts, conditions or procedures which caused injury, health impairment, or property damage. You will prepare revisions of safety and health instructions.
