About the role
Tour of duty for this position is Monday – Friday 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The incumbent is an Elevator Mechanic (Electronics) and performs a variety of electronic functions in connection with the inspection, maintenance and repair of elevators, lifts, escalators and various industrial equipment in the House Office Buildings. The duties listed are at the WG-12 level. Duties include, but are not limited to: Interpret, diagnose, and respond to the full spectrum of elevator operational problems, e.g., power buildup problems in multi-voltage generator systems, changes in platform leveling, high maximum elevator speeds, or sudden stops or changes in elevator speed. Read and respond to mechanical information from engineering and inspection reports including technical directions of engineering, event readings or recordings, and oscilloscope waveforms. Interpret electronic diagrams and specifications of complete elevator bank systems. Evaluate, adjust, and repair new systems and invent processes
